Back....

Hello there! I wonder if some of you visited my page in the last 3 days and got to see some obnoxious stuff, but as usual i have removed some of it.
I am thinking what should I write about today? I have these hazaar ideas going on im my head but I dont think I have the patience to work on any of them right now. I promise to myself that Iwill write something small atleast everyday.
Let me today talk about some general observations without classifying them...
  • I happened to read a new blog must I say I was impressed.
  • I am look forward to my mom in law and sis in law coming it will be good fun with all of us together
  • I made aam panna a couple of days bck for the first time and I think I did a damn neat job of it:-)
  • I am planning to gift mom and dad an air conditioner next month...i love the thrill I feel when i think of how surprised they would be on getting it
  • I started learning swimming and dropped it in the last week but will take it up again from today or tomorrow
  • I opened my Demat account almost a year back and I was able to log-in to it only for the last 2 days. Must say a good start..I will start saving money now :-) I am thrilled

long time no see

From Birthday till date have often though that I need to write but just never got around to doing it...A lot happened in between I got married. Big word it is a lot of dreams i saw as a girl. Some disappointments and many more good occasions. I will definitely keep writing some of the details of the last most dynamic months of my life in the next few posts if only for my reference alone.

I met my husband through an online portal and even though I was initially not convinced that he was the right guy for me today I am happily married to him. He is the only man I guess who is so clean of heart, straightforward and I believe that he loves me quite deeply.

However like any other marriage ours is going through its settling phase where we are taking time to understand each other and maybe moderate our expectations of each other.

Parents is a touchy subject in any marriage as a matter of fact and I think having clear expectations is quite important. While I think he has made his expectations quite clear as far as my MIL and SIL are concerned I am unable to do so. However i must say that I have met the most wonderful people in my MIL and SIL. They are 2 people who are absolutely clean of heart and can share their love quite directly with me.

I wonder what I can do to bring my parents into the same circle of affection like my MIL and SIL. I really do hope that this one dream does come true for me....

Happy Birthday to me

Yes so it is that time of the year again. To fish out the party dress from the wardrobe and be the one day princess. Makes you want to start afresh in life look at things with new eyes and to review what you did in the year gone by. May I say that the year gone by has not been the best. However going forward I have a resolve to make life better, start afresh remove the old cob webs from my mind and get my life back on track from the complacence it has fallen into. Though not an easy task however life is all about the challenges and the learnings along the way and each individual has his/her own set to deal with.
While resolutions is a way of life to me and I keep some break others and modify yet others :P to suit myself. I always enthusiastically like to set these goals for myself to keep thinking and moving in the right direction in my life.
So to begin with some of my goals for the year to come are:
  • Have identified some areas on improvement need to work on them.
  • Have identified some financial goals need to achieve them
  • Have identified some short term professional goals need to achieve them
  • Need to lose wight (the standard one)

Happy birthday to me.:-)

Amir Khusro.......

I was watching this reality singing show on the televisison and where a ontestant built in somelines of Khusro's poetry into a popular number. It piqued my curiosity and led me to search on the internet. Here are some of my traditional favorites:

खुसरो रैन सुहाग की जागी पी के संग।
तन मेरो मन पीउ को दोऊ भये एक रंग॥

अपनी छाब बनाई के जो मैं पी के पास गई।
छाब देखि जब पियू की सो अपनी भूल गई॥

खुसरू बाज़ी प्रेम की में खेलूं पी के संग।

जीत गयी तो पिया मोरे, हारी, पी के संग॥

spring time :)

I am back to Delhi after 3 long years and this is my first spring here after 3 years and man what a "spring" it is. I had forgotten how it felt when the winters drift away and the first warm days touched you. When you step out of you room and there is a distinct smell of nature in the air. It seems as if the colours are running amuck as new flowers grow out of every nook and cranny in every possible colour. The entire campus is dressed. The evenings are warmer, pleasant and longer with people out taking walks till 9 in the evening. When you look forward to waking up early in the morning to catch the pleasant chirping of birds who are up and about. The first cup of tea in the morning with the soft sunlight streaming onto the balcony. The gasp of pleasure as the first few drops of cool water hit you pleasantly when you step under the shower.

Gone are those days when you were loaded with sweaters, sunlight was scarce, everything was parched and dry, life was dull and everything was a superhuman effort; from waking up in the morning to a simple chore like having a bath.

I love all the activity and the bustle that is all around me as it is time for the birds to chirp once again, flowers to bloom, sun to shine and for me to have fun amongst all this:)

Udaasi ka sabab poochenge!!

Okie. It is time to explain :). Couple of my last posts have been very cryptic and depressing. So why? What happened? I have never been so shocked and this is what it has been.........
This is all about a friend. She i the same school friend i wrote about sometime back. She had avery bad year but she got married like a year back and I recently discovered that she was going through domestic violence and mental trauma and I was shaken. I had a chat and requested her to give her marriage a chance (though I was very very upset) and her flight did break in certain ways. She is still with her man but not with her in laws any longer.
I wonder why someone has to be treated like cattle and beaten and why does any woman take it. I wish things were different and everyone had there on share of sky and sunlight.
I wonder why does God test some people so much. There is so much of pain in her life that my own heart cries for her. The wonder is that she still stands strong amongst all of this. I wish her all the luck in life and pray to God that he chooses to treat her better as life moves on.
But when I heard everything i did feel as if I had been slapped and was numb very very numb.
This did remind me of the book A thousand splendid suns, but there is no way to justify what is happening around me as i stand and watch it helplessly.
