Flight....

Ever wondered how a little bird feels on her first flight out of the nest. The mother bird has been taking care of it for the few months since its birth. She has been protecting her from the vultures. Working hard to feed the babies and keeping them warm under her. But sooner rather than later it is time to fly off....leave the warmth of the nest....figure out life for herself. The excitement is dizzying as the world outside beckons.........but then what does she know about what awaits her...........the fight for the grains as the first winter approaces......the fight for the twigs as she builds her first nest.........the constant alertness when some vulture will swoop at its tiny throat or the grain down will turn into a trap....the wait when her soulmate will come along and she would be the proud owner of a beautiful nest......the sense of achievement as she brings up her nest of little birdies...............and that feeling of emptiness when it is time for them to go out and build their lives on their own.
